The Detroit Lions are gearing up for their Week 5 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals, and on Saturday, the team made a couple of roster tweaks to prepare for battle.
The Lions announced that cornerback Tre Flowers and offensive lineman Devin Cochran have been elevated from the practice squad to the active roster.
Detroit Lions Roster Moves Detroit Lions Elevate Jackson Meeks
The moves come as no surprise considering the team’s growing list of injuries. On Friday, Sione Vaki (groin), Khalil Dorsey (concussion), Alim McNeill (knee), and Zach Cunningham (hamstring) were all ruled OUT for Sunday’s game. Then, on Sunday morning, Taylor Decker was downgraded to doubtful with a lingering shoulder injury, prompting the Lions to bring up Cochran for extra depth along the offensive line.
Meanwhile, Flowers adds some veteran insurance to the cornerback group, especially with Dorsey unavailable. The former Lions and Bengals cornerback gives Detroit another experienced option in coverage and on special teams.
With key injuries piling up, head coach Dan Campbell and his staff will be counting on these elevations to provide stability and flexibility as Detroit looks to improve to 4-1 and stay atop the NFC North.
