The Green Bay Packers‘ offensive line has been a major problem this season.
They’ve been pretty banged up, and as a result, Josh Jacobs hasn’t been as dominant as expected.
With that in mind, former Packers backup quarterback Kurt Benkert had an interesting suggestion to fix their woes.
He took to social media to share his honest thoughts on the Packers’ offense:
“The Packers need to run the ball more from under center. I think that fixes a lot of their problem on offense. Hopefully they see that in self scout during their bye week,” Benkert said.

That makes plenty of sense.
Jacobs is constantly running into stacked boxes, and he’s been hit behind the line of scrimmage early and often.
He’s pretty much fighting for his life there on every carry, and while he’s more than capable of piling up yards after contact, that hasn’t done him many favors.
Jacobs found plenty of success against the Dallas Cowboys, but Brian Schottenheimer’s team has one of the worst defenses in the game.
He wasn’t that much of a factor in the first three games of the season, and while one of those games came against the Cleveland Browns’ Super Bowl-caliber defense, it was still a worrisome trend.
The Packers hope to get starting right tackle Zach Tom and starting left guard Aaron Banks back on the field when they return from their bye week, and that should certainly give them a massive boost, especially when it comes to opening up lanes for Jacobs and the running game.
Also, Matt LaFleur and his offensive coaching staff are usually sound at making adjustments, so that might be a point of emphasis going forward.
