The New York Giants finally won their first game of the season, but it came at a steep cost.
Once again, the team’s reluctance to ditch the infamous turf may have cost them their best player.
As reported by Adam Schefter, Malik Nabers has suffered a torn ACL and meniscus injury.
Malik Nabers health update, per @AdamSchefter:
• Expected to undergo surgery on torn ACL, meniscus this week
• Will allow partially torn labrum, turf toe to heal on their own
• Expected back for start of training camp
• For first time since "maybe high school", will be as…

That was always the expectation, so, unfortunately, that means he will have to undergo a season-ending injury to address those ailments.
On the bright side, if there’s one, Nabers is now expected to be as close to 100% healthy as possible for the first time since maybe high school.
Nabers will also allow his partially torn labrum and his turf toe to heal on their own, and he’s expected to be back on the field for the start of training camp.
Nabers dealt with a foot injury for most of training camp.
He reportedly played through that injury in his final year in college and his rookie season.
And even though you couldn’t tell he was hurt by his stellar production, the fact that he will finally be able to heal from that ailment is a bit of a silver lining.
The Giants hoped to have Jaxson Dart build a strong connection with the star wide receiver out of LSU, but it now seems like that will have to wait a little longer.
Before his season-ending injury, the second-year pass-catcher had 18 receptions for 271 yards and a couple of touchdowns, and he was on pace for another impressive season as the team’s primary offensive weapon.
