Betting The Bucs (Week 5 Edition)

October 5th, 2025

Through four weeks in this space, Joe is up $77.50 this season. What a public service Joe has provided!

Disclaimer: Don’t bet if losing will ruin your life, or day, or week.

Betting The Bucs is a open window into Joe’s pregame wagers tied to the Buccaneers. Joe would say it’s all in fun, but this is business. (In-game wagers are best for processing the best information, but Joe cannot take that on here in real-time.)

Florida sports betting is blessed by the government via Hard Rock Bet, the source of the betting lines here.

Joe’s Week 4 picks can be seen here. As today’s Bucs game in Seattle, Joe has a few:

*Simple math here with a little logic tossed in. The Bucs have averaged 7 throws a game to running backs. Today, Rachaad White will be the top dog in the backfield with Bucky Irving out injured. White’s got great hands and he’ll get the majority of the workload. The Seattle secondary can cover, and Joe suspects the Bucs will look for easier throws early. Joe’s got White to catch 4 balls or more.

*Joe hates considering anything negative as it relates to Lavonte David, but David has looked a fraction slower recently and he was classified as “limited” on the injury report all week with a knee issue. David is coming off a three-combined-tackle game against the Eagles. Joe’s taking the under 7.5 combined tackles here. Also, Joe sees the Bucs winning time of possession today in Seattle, which will limit defensive snaps.

*This is a nod to the Bucs’ run defense and teams knowing a common way to beat Tampa Bay is to carve them up with short passes. Bucs cornerbacks Jamel Dean and Benjamin Morrison are out and Sam Darnold has plenty of experience against Todd Bowles. In his last two games against the Bucs (with Carolina) Darnold busted the over 20.5 completions mark easily. Joe expects that again today.

Good luck!
