NFL Picks Against the Spread: Week 5 Games

Before the fifth Sunday of the 2025 regular season kicks off, let’s have some fun by taking a look at the lines for the NFL Week 5 games.

My overall record is 29-34-1. Trying to get over .500. The BGN Community is better at 32-31-1.

Here are suggestions when trying to beat the odds.

**HOUSTON TEXANS (-1.5) at BALTIMORE RAVENS:** The Ravens are super banged up. Cooper Rush has been able to win games in the past but I’m not putting faith in him here. The Texans might be on the turnaround after a Week 4 victory. **PICK: Texans -1.5**

**NEW YORK GIANTS at NEW ORLEANS SAINTS (-1.5):** The Saints have been pretty uninspiring. The Giants might have something cooking with Jaxson Dart at quarterback. **PICK: Giants +1.5**

**MIAMI DOLPHINS (-1.5) at CAROLINA PANTHERS:** The Panthers are home underdogs to a 1-3 team whose sole win came over an 0-4 team. Oof. **PICK: Dolphins -1.5**

**LAS VEGAS RAIDERS at INDIANAPOLIS COLTS (-7):** The Colts have looked much more inspiring than the Raiders ever have this year. The Indy offense should be able to get after that defense. Daniel Jones beating Geno Smith is going to be tough for all those people who like to pretend Geno is really good for some reason. **PICK: Colts -7**

**DENVER BRONCOS at PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (-4.5):** The Eagles will win, because they always win. But they will struggle to make it look pretty, per usual. **PICK: Broncos +4.5**

**DALLAS COWBOYS (-1.5) at NEW YORK JETS:** Fading Justin Fields will serve you well. He might actually be able to do some things against this dreadful Dallas defense but the Cowboys’ offense will carry them to victory. **PICK: Cowboys -1.5**

**TENNESSEE TITANS at ARIZONA CARDINALS (-7.5):** Tempted to take the points here because I think we’ll see a good effort after the Titans got shut out last weekend. But Jonathan Gannon is capable of beating the bad teams, just not the good ones. **PICK: Cardinals -7.5**

**TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS at SEATTLE SEAHAWKS (-3.5):** The Bucs pass the eye test more. But they’re banged up and the Seahawks rank first in DVOA and second in point differential. Seattle wins and covers at home. **PICK: Seahawks -3.5**

**WASHINGTON COMMANDERS at LOS ANGLES CHARGERS (-2.5):** The Bolts didn’t look great in last week’s loss but they’ve otherwise played inspiring football this season. Justin Herbert should be able to take advantage of an old Commanders defense. **PICK: Chargers -2.5**

**DETROIT LIONS (-9.5) at CINCINNATI BENGALS:** No real reason to think the Bengals can keep it competitive. Lock of the week. **PICK: Lions -9.5**

**NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS at BUFFALO BILLS (-8.5):** The Pats can’t hang with the big boys. **PICK: Bills -8.5**

**KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (-3) at JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS:** I’ve been picking against the Jags all season and it hasn’t been working out for me. But I’m not ready to take them in this spot. The Chiefs are back on track. **PICK: Chiefs -3**
