David Moyes lifts lid on Jack Grealish injury that was kept under wraps before Everton vs…

Everton returned to winning ways against Crystal Palace as they came back from behind to end their 19-game unbeaten run.

It was a far from convincing performance by Everton, but Jack Grealish said the half-time substitutes changed the game.

Carlos Alcaraz and Beto made a real impact from the bench as they brought more physicality going forward.

Grealish, who scored the match-winner, got most of the plaudits and was awarded his third Player of the Match this season.

Speaking post-match, David Moyes lifted the lid on an injury issue he’s had, which has been kept quiet.

David Moyes gives Jack Grealish injury update

Moyes admitted post-match that Jack Grealish has been carrying an injury of late, and it’s even kept him out of training at times.

“Jack has had a couple of minor injuries which, over the last two games, have had to nurse him a wee bit,” the Scotsman revealed.

“He’s had to miss the odd day’s training with it but his performances are not in question. He’s doing a lot of good things. The team didn’t play particularly well in the first half and Jack was part of that as well.”

Moyes also added that Keane has an issue with his ribs: “He got something between his ribs. I don’t really know the outcome, I’ve not spoken to them (the medical department) yet to see what they say.”

International break arrives at a good time for Everton

Usually, managers would be frustrated with the international break arriving after a last-minute winner like Everton’s today.

However, considering Grealish and Keane’s injuries, it’s probably come out at a good time, as they can rest and recover ready for Manchester City on the 18th of October.

It’ll also allow Jarrad Branthwaite and Merlin Rohl additional time to get up to speed, so Moyes’ squad will be in a really good place after the break.

The Toffees head into the two-week break in eighth place on 11 points after seven games.
