Barcelona suffered a 4-1 loss away against Sevilla, handing Hansi Flick’s side their first LaLiga loss of the season. Barça have now suffered back-to-back losses after their midweek Champions League loss at home to PSG.

During the first-half, when the defending LaLiga champions were 2-0 down, on the stroke of half-time, Pedri clipped a pinpoint pass towards Sevilla’s box, before Rashford unleashed a volley which found its way into the back of the net.

The Catalan side was dealt two late blows in the match in injury time, but even after the full-time whistle, the side was given even more worrying news. A humiliating 4-1 defeat was then made worse with one player visibly struggling after the match.

One of their most in-form players was spotted down injured after the match, surrounded by physios on the pitch.

The player in question was Marcus Rashford, on loan from Manchester United, who has been recently called up to England’s squad for their upcoming matches during the international break against Wales and Latvia.

Rashford fired home Barcelona’s only goal in the match and has eight goal involvements in his last seven appearances for his loan club. Barca are reportedly looking at trying to keep him at the club, following the end of his loan next summer.

Although the extent of the injury is unknown right now, the early signs were not good. While Rashford will not want to miss any games due to injury, the upcoming break of club football could be pivotal for him to recover from this injury, if it is one that will see him sidelined for weeks.

The winger was awarded the Player of the Match award in his team’s away loss, but he was a bright spark in a disappointing day for Barcelona.
