The Baltimore Ravens are off to a shocking 1-4 start in the 2025 season. On Sunday, the team was dominated by the Houston Texans in a 44-10 loss.
That final score may not tell the entire story about what is going on with the Ravens. Baltimore was without starting quarterback Lamar Jackson, and it showed.

In Jackson’s place was backup quarterback Cooper Rush. Rush’s performance was one that everyone would like to soon forget, as the backup tossed three interceptions.
It was a dreadful day for the Ravens, but it was also a great reminder. This team can only go as far as Jackson can lead them.
Even before Jackson’s injury, the Ravens did not look like the team everyone was accustomed to seeing. Veteran running back Derrick Henry may finally be hitting a wall, and the defense has scored 35-plus points in each game this season.

Obviously, not having your MVP quarterback in the lineup is a bad thing. However, I think everyone in Baltimore was hoping it wouldn’t be this dreadful.
If this performance in Week 5 has shown us anything, it’s that Jackson should renegotiate his contract with the franchise. They are obviously not paying him nearly enough.
