Erling Haaland’s first-half strike was the only goal of the game as City continued our positive recent run of form.
The Norwegian latched on to Josko Gvardiol’s delicately chipped pass after turning his marker, set himself and hammered home.
It was no more than City deserved after a bright start.

We maintained our attacking intent for the rest of the first half, coming close through Phil Foden, Tijjani Reijnders and Oscar Bobb amongst others.
The second period saw Brentford throw more our way, but a solid defensive display kept the Bees well away from our goal.
It represented Pep Guardiola’s 250th win in the Premier League. The Catalan needed just 349 matches to hit the landmark - a whopping 55 better than the previous best.
