Detroit Lions Writer Justin Rogers Hits Bengals With Low Blow

During Sunday’s win over the Cincinnati Bengals, Detroit Lions fans had plenty to cheer about, but perhaps no one had more fun than former Detroit News beat writer Justin Rogers, who now does a solid job with his Detroit Lions Network blog.

Following a rough performance by Bengals quarterback Jake Browning, who threw three interceptions and struggled for most of the game to move the ball against Detroit’s defense, Rogers decided to twist the knife a little on social media.

He posted a photo of Lions head coach Dan Campbell in the locker room, clearly mid-celebration, with the caption:

“I’ve got one game ball. Where’s Jake Browning at?”

The image shows Campbell shouting passionately in front of his players, a perfect match for the jab. Rogers’ post quickly went viral among Lions fans, who were loving the mix of humor, swagger, and just the right amount of Detroit grit.

It’s all in good fun, of course, but considering how dominant the Lions looked in their 37-24 win, it’s safe to say that Detroit earned the right to talk a little trash.

Justin Rogers didn’t just cover the win, he embodied the energy of Lions fans everywhere.
