According to Jade Jackson of the Indianapolis Star:
A former NFL quarterback was arrested after a drunken fight with a 69-year-old man over parking, according to a probable cause affidavit filed in the case.
Fox Sports analyst Mark Sanchez, 38, is facing misdemeanor charges of battery resulting in injury, public intoxication, and unlawful entry of a motor vehicle for his role in the altercation. An initial hearing has not been set in the case. Sanchez remained hospitalized early Oct. 5, according to police.
“This incident should never have happened,” said Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears. “What began as a disagreement between a 38-year-old former professional athlete and a 69-year-old man should not have escalated into violence or left anyone seriously injured. As with any case, we will follow the facts and the law wherever they lead.”

The fight began over Sanchez being upset that the 69-year-old man parked his work box truck at a loading dock to collect used cooking oil, the court documents state.
Sanchez was stabbed shortly before 12:30 a.m. Oct. 4 in downtown Indianapolis in an alleyway near Loughmiller’s Pub & Eatery. He suffered stab wounds to his upper torso and was rushed to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition. Later in the day, he was upgraded to stable condition.
Court documents indicate the 69-year-old man, who suffered a laceration to his left cheek, was defending himself. He was treated and released from Methodist Hospital. Photos of the man shared with IndyStar show him on a hospital bed, bloodied, with a neck brace and a large gash on the left side of his face.
