Tristan Wirfs Was A Monster Today
October 5th, 2025
Tristan Wirfs put a smile on Bucs’ fans’ faces today the way he mauled Seattle defenders.
If Tristan Wirfs is honored yet again with an All-Pro nod at left tackle, all the TV networks would have to do is share one highlight to show what a King Kong-like tackle Wirfs is.
In today’s 38-35 hhhuuugggee win over the Seahawks in their Seattle nest, on Rachaad White’s first rushing touchdown to the left side, Wirfs demonstrated why he is no one to fool with.
Wirfs took out three defenders on that play. First, Wirfs mauled a lineman at the line of scrimmage. Then he bowled over a Seattle defender on the second left. Then he ragdolled a defender on the third level.
All by himself, Wirfs wiped out nearly a third of the Seahawks’ defense.
It was a beautiful thing to watch.
“I think it was on a pin-and-pull,” Wirfs said after he laughed when Joe said he flattened three Seattle defenders on White’s first touchdown. “I was just trying to help guys out in space.
“Yeah, a pin-and-pull is a fun play.”
It sure looked fun. Joe was laughing in the press box how Wirfs manhandled people in the run game.
Joe has always wondered why the Bucs don’t run behind Wirfs more often. Yeah, Joe knows he’s known more as an elite pass blocker. But dang, to see Wirfs toss defenders aside — on a very good defense — maybe the Bucs ought to rethink where they run the ball.
It’s never a bad thing to lean on Wirfs’ blocking ability.
