Former Alabama Crimsonette Chloe Holladay is now a Tennessee Titans Majorette.
Former Crimsonetter Chloe Holladay made NFL history this season by joining the Blue Crew, the Tennessee Titans stadium, as a majorette, the only one to hold this position.
Majorettes were the first female performing group to be featured in the NFL, even predating NFL cheerleaders. The first group was seen on the field in 1948 as a part of the 49ers, and the tradition continued across different teams until 2002, when the last majorette group was disbanded.
Holladay began her twirling journey at the age of 5 at a local studio, Kim’s Star Twirlers, in her hometown of Hartselle, Alabama. It was there that her talent and drive were noticed early on.
“She was so naturally talented at performing and putting on a show,” said Paige Parker, co-director of Kim’s Star Twirlers. “I was always impressed with Chloe’s work ethic and determination.”
Holladay’s work ethic and determination eventually led her to become a member of the Crimsonettes her freshman year — a goal she had set for herself as a child.
Holladay told Sports Illustrated that she had always known she wanted to attend the University. “There was no other option,” shesaid.
Former drum major of the Million Dollar Band, Aly Ratcliffe, said that “Chloe’s demeanor was always very positive, focused, and team-oriented.”
By her senior year, this mindset and focus paid off, and she was named the captain of the Crimsonettes.
Her sophomore year, she began posting TikToks about her everyday life as a college student and gameday content as a Crimsonette. She quickly went viral with some of her videos garnering millions of views.
This past summer she hosted Rock the South, a three day long country music festival that takes place 30 minutes from her hometown. She has also been a guest on multiple different ESPN segments including College GameDay her senior year.
She now has 1.1 million followers on that account and has continued making her usual gameday content but now as a part of the Blue Crew.
After graduating from the University with a bachelor’s degree in nursing and five years of collegiate twirling experience, Holladay began working toward a goal no majorette has accomplished in over two decades: twirling in the NFL.
She first hinted at this during aninterview with Sports Illustrated her senior year, where she said she would “love” to be an NFL majorette. She officially announced her position with the Titans on her TikTok account in June of this year.
In the caption of thepost, she wrote, “I am beyond excited to begin this journey and twirl on the Titans this fall!”
Holladay’s debut with the Titans was at the first game of the season on Sept. 7, and she will continue performing with them until the end of the season.
“I think students should take away that anything is possible as a student at UA, and that you have to chase your dreams to make them a reality,” Ratcliffe said.
