Hawaii quarterback makes first career start for Cleveland Browns

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow)— Hawaii’s Dillon Gabriel made his first career start as a National Football League starting quarterback Sunday morning.

The former Miliani Trojan was named the starting QB earlier this week, taking over for the veteran Joe Flacco.

The Browns traveled to London and faced the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, and the lefty trigger man had a solid first outing.

Gabriel showed a lot of promise in his first career start, and threw for 190 yards and a pair of scores.

However, he was unable to lead the Browns to an upset win, and the Vikings took the victory, 21-17.

“You know, I think I learned a little details,” Gabriel said to reporters after the game. “Definitely was ready for that, but all the details come, come down to it, you know, and I think in any game, you’re gonna want four to five plays back, of course.”

The Browns return stateside for a divisional rivalry game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
