COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Former Ohio State football player Emeka Egbuka has earned his first accolade as an NFL player.
Egbuka has quickly validated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ decision to make him the No. 19 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. In his first four games as a pro, the former OSU captain has caught 18 receptions for 282 yards and four touchdowns, putting him on pace for a 1,000-yard receiving season.
Doing so has earned him NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month honors.
He followed that up by starting off October with a _____ against the Seattle Seahawks.
Egbuka is the fifth Ohio State wide receiver to be selected in the first round in the last four years. So far Garrett Wilson is the one who’s won NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. Should Egbuka continue on this pace, he’ll surely position himself to join Wilson in doing so. That would also give the Buckeyes three in four years along with quarterback C.J. Stroud.
Since 2016, six Buckeyes have won Rookie of the Year.
