Everton fans will love what Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner said about the Hill Dickinson…

Everton managed to come back from a goal down to defeat Crystal Palace 2-1 at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

David Moyes’ side were second best for the majority of the clash, but once Iliman Ndiaye converted his penalty in the 76th minute, the momentum completely flipped.

Everton were able to pin the visitors back for the final 15 minutes and eventually got their reward through Jack Grealish, who bundled in a stoppage-time winner.

Speaking post-match, Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner discussed the impact the new 52,000-seater stadium had.

Glasner admitted that the Everton stadium created such a loud atmosphere that it near enough decided the result.

“The crowd was here, the stadium was loud and they got the confidence back and then I think it was one situation where it was decided,” the Palace manager said.

“It hurts really massively today because I think the last defeat was in April but maybe we need this disappointment, to feel this pain to make the next step forward.

David Moyes says Everton are still adjusting to new stadium

Speaking post-match, Moyes admitted that Everton are still getting used to the new stadium.

“What we want is to create is Goodison Park again, the noise and atmosphere,” the Scotsman explained. “And I think people are still getting used to it. It’s going to take us time.

“When the crowd are behind the team here it’s great and they’re desperate for something special here. Look, we have to try and build it.

“It took me 11 years, I won’t be here 11 years this time but hopefully we can build it and get it in the right order again.”

Everton are yet to taste defeat at the Hill Dickinson, so clearly it’s become a fortress and somewhere that teams really struggle to play at.
