According to a report by La Voix des Sports, one Manchester City official was in attendance at the Stade de l'Abbe-Deschamps, Auxerre's home ground, on Saturday. The four players the scouts had in mind were Auxerre's Clement Akpa and Kevin Danois, and Lens' skipper Adrien Thomasson, as well as defender Ismaelo Ganiou.

Three of the four players had a great outing. While Thomasson assisted twice for Lens, Auxerre duo Akpa and Danois played full ninety minutes. Ganiou, who stood firm at the heart of the backline, was sent off in the second half after he received a second yellow in the 73rd minute.

Back in 2020, Man City acquired majority shares of Ligue 2 outfit Troyes. The French side are currently plying their trade in the French division, and are leading the table with 20 points in nine outings. Last year, they brought Troyes' star player Savinho to the Premier League, and now they have their eyes on more players from the French top tier.
