While many expected Lane Kiffin and the Ole Miss to take a step back this season after losing several star players to the NFL, including quarterback Jaxon Dart, the Rebels have done the exact opposite through five games.

Not only is Kiffin’s team 5-0, but it’s coming off of a 24-19 victory over LSU in the Magnolia Bowl that vaulted the Rebels into the top five of the AP Poll.

However, while things are going great for Kiffin on the field, it appears he may want to call a family meeting back home. Not only did Kiffin’s daughter Landry seemingly abandon him to root for her boyfriend, LSU linebacker Whit Weeks, in the rivalry game, but now it appears that Kiffin’s son, Knox, is following in her footsteps.

Knox Kiffin Ditches Father Lane To Take Unofficial Visit To LSU

Knox Kiffin is quarterback recruit in the class of 2028, and he may well end up being highly coveted one at that. The youngest Kiffin, whose full name is actually Monte Knox Kiffin, after Lane’s father and former Super Bowl-winning defensive coordinator, stands at 6-feet tall and 170 pounds, and already holds multiple FBS scholarship offers.

You would think that if he reaches a high enough level, he would simply play for his father at Ole Miss (or wherever Lane is coaching come 2028). But in the immortal words of Lee Corso, “Not so fast my friend!”

According to a report from Rivals.com, Knox Kiffin is set to follow in his sister’s footsteps and head to LSU for an unofficial visit during the Tigers’ upcoming game against South Carolina.

Now, if this were an official visit, you could write it off as a kid just wanting to take a free trip to a cool game. But for an unofficial visit, Knox has to pay his own way and provide his own travel, which likely means a five-hour drive.

Now, he may well just be accompanying his sister to watch her boyfriend play, but it is something to keep an eye on. Sources around the program state that Lane Kiffin could encourage his son to branch out and play elsewhere, and given LSU’s recent success with producing star quarterbacks, the Tigers would make for an extremely logical choice.
