IMPD Chief Chris Bailey and Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears discuss the weekend’s downtown stabbing investigation Monday, Oct. 6, 2025, during a press conference inside the City-County Building in Indianapolis. Fox Sports analyst Mark Sanchez, 38, is facing charges for his alleged role in the altercation.

“After the altercation turned physical, it is alleged that pepper spray was dispensed, and Sanchez suffered injuries consistent with being stabbed.”

A sentence for the felony charge can range from one to six years.

Sanchez posted $300 cash bond on Sunday and is set to appear in court on Tuesday.

“I don’t care who you are, I don’t care what you do for a living,” Indianapolis Police Chief Christopher Bailey said in a statement. “If you come into our city, commit violence, we will use all the tools at our disposal to hold you accountable.”

Sanchez was initially in Indianapolis to call a game between the Las Vegas Raiders and the Indianapolis Colts, but the incident derailed those plans.
