Man United and Man City will both be delighted heading into the international break, as both sides won over the weekend. United managed to ease some of the pressure on Ruben Amorim, by beating Sunderland 2-0 at Old Trafford.
Man City, meanwhile, continued their pursuit of top of the league Arsenal, as they managed to beat Brentford 1-0 on Sunday. It leaves Pep Guardiola’s side fifth in the league table, three points away from the Gunners, who beat West Ham at the Emirates on Saturday.
Elsewhere in the Premier League, there was a huge win for Chelsea against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge, as Arne Slot’s side has now lost three games in a row in all competitions. They will welcome Man United to Anfield after the international break.
Bournemouth, Tottenham and Everton all continued good form too with wins over the weekend; they are all looking to challenge for the European football places alongside Man United, who are currently three points off the top five.
