Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) is joining a MAGA chorus in taking aim at the NFL — and Bad Bunny.
After the global sensation was announced as the 2026 Super Bowl halftime performer, President Donald Trump‘s base harshly criticized the decision, pointing to his outspoken criticism of the president and his administration.
Bad Bunny went on to directly address the scrutiny during his opening monologue on the Season 51 premiere of “Saturday Night Live,” framing the NFL’s decision as a milestone for Latinos, while also poking fun at outrage.
“I am doing the Super Bowl halftime show and I’m very happy and I think everybody’s happy about it,” he said. “Even Fox News.”
The Puerto Rican superstar also began speaking in Spanish, to some cheers, before adding: “And if you didn’t understand what I just said, you have four months to learn.”
In a post on X on Monday, Greene ripped Bad Bunny’s suggestion that “America has 4 months to learn Spanish before his perverse unwanted performance.”
“It would be a good time to pass my bill to make English the official language of America,” Greene wrote, pointing to her English Language Unity Act.
Introduced in March, Greene’s legislation would ensure that all official government functions are in English, as well as reinforce an English language requirement for naturalization. It would also codify Trump’s executive order from the same month into law that designated English as the official language of the United States.
Greene added that “the NFL needs to stop having demonic sexual performances during its halftime shows.”
Her post comes as Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said on Friday that the NFL will not be “able to sleep at night” over its choice of Bad Bunny.
“Well, they suck, and we’ll win, and God will bless us, and we’ll stand and be proud of ourselves at the end of the day,” Noem told conservative podcaster Benny Johnson.
Noem also reaffirmed that ICE agents will be at Super Bowl LX, which is scheduled for Feb. 8 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
“We’re going to enforce the law,” Noem said. “So I think people should not be coming to the Super Bowl unless they are law-abiding Americans who love this country.”
