Eagles' first Week 6 injury report causes massive concern with Saquon Barkley

The first injury report for the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 6 was not something fans thought would create widespread concern. Besides their blown 14-point lead against the Denver Broncos on Sunday, of course.

Six players showed up on the injury report for Monday, and three of them were listed as non-participants. It's not good news for the offense as it includes Saquon Barkley (knee), Grant Calcaterra (oblique), and Landon Dickerson (ankle).

Also on the injury report are linebacker Jihaad Campbell (biceps) and Byron Young (triceps), who were listed as limited. Linebacker Nakobe Dean was included as well with his knee injury, but was listed as a full participant.

It should be noted that the Eagles did not practice on Monday, as these are estimations of what it would have been if the team had practiced on Monday.

Barkley's knee injury now has Eagles fans concerned

Calcaterra and Dickerson's injuries were not surprising, as they both left the Broncos game early, which was expected. It would be a surprise if either guy is available to play, but Tuesday's practice could determine that.

Barkley's knee is now the biggest problem in Philadelphia. For that to overtake anything the offense hasn't done this season is surprising.

There were some moments when Barkley was slow to get up, but it wasn't noticeable to the point of being concerned. He only had nine total touches in the game, but had a 47-yard touchdown catch and 30 yards on the ground in the loss.

The Eagles' offense is starting to get banged up at the worst time after getting some depth players, including Tanner McKee and Will Shipley, back from injury. Philly now braces for the possibility that Barkley and Dickerson could both miss the game.

There's no word on the extent of Barkley's injury, but that has become the storyline of the week for Philly as they face the New York Giants on Thursday.
