There has rarely been a fall from grace so rapid and disturbing as that former New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez has endured over the past couple of days. Make no mistake, if the events that many believe to be be true did indeed occur, he fully deserves it.
Early Saturday morning, it was reported that Sanchez was the victim of a stabbing in downtown Indianapolis, where he was on assignment with Fox Sports to cover the Colts game. The news of his injuries and hospitalization prompted many prominent figures in the NFL and media to offer their most sincere well-wishes for Sanchez, stating that he was one of the best and nicest people they had ever encountered in the business.
Many of these posts were retracted hours later when it became known that it was Sanchez who initiated the altercation which led to his injuries. What is more, Fox promptly removed him from broadcasting duties.
Mark Sanchez and Fox now face a lawsuit from the victim in the stabbing

At first, it was reported that Sanchez was placed under arrest while in the hospital and was facing five misdemeanor charges. However, after more investigating, the district attorney is also charging the former Jets and Washington Commanders quarterback with felony battery resulting in bodily injury.
If convicted, Sanchez could face 1-6 years in prison.
Not only is the former USC star facing prison time now, but the victim, 69-year-old Perry Tole, is now suing Sanchez and Fox for an unspecified amount of money.
Fans, of course, expected this:
This didn’t take long . Lawsuit filed vs Sanchez AND Fox because he was there as Fox employee . Victim has some sharp attorneys saying ‘ lets get fox’s money . not just sanchez ‘s ‘ https://t.co/vxUqY9UMh3

Interesting bringing a vicarious liability claim against Fox. Really turns on whether Sanchez was on company time and working within the scope of his employment at the time it happened. Very normal though for Plaintiffs to loop in employers with deeper pockets than the defendant. https://t.co/FoZ6277Y2E

Tole alleges that Sanchez stabbed him too, taking Tole’s knife sand stabbing him through the cheek and cutting his tongue.
While the lawsuit was brought quickly, one can be sure that Sanchez is in for a long legal battle because of his actions.
