Positive Progress For Devon Witherspoon & Other Seahawks Injury Updates

The Seahawks were missing some key defensive players heading into their Week 5 game against Tampa Bay, then lost two more to injury during the game, absences that contributed to a 38-35 loss in which the Seahawk gave up the highest point and yardage totals, by a significant margin, that they have allowed all season.

The good news is that the Seahawks could get at least some of those injured players back this week, though head coach Mike Macdonald said nothing has been determined this early in the week.

Cornerback Devon Witherspoon, who has been dealing with a knee injury since the season opener, and outside linebacker DeMarcus Lawrence, who left last week's win over Arizona with a quadriceps injury, are both on track to return to practice this week.

"Spoon and D-Hall, they're going to try to practice in the middle of the week," Macdonald said. "No designation yet, but the plan is for them to practice at some point middle to late in the week, and then we'll take it from there."

Macdonald said earlier in the day on his weekly radio show on Seattle Sports 710AM that Witherspoon was getting imaging done on his knee, which has kept him out of three of the past four games, and when asked about those tests later in the day, Maconald said, "I think it's fair to say he's making progress positively."
