The Indianapolis Colts entered Week 5 of the 2025 NFL season with a surprising record and dominated the Las Vegas Raiders 40-6.
Shane Steichen’s squad has earned top-10 praise from analysts, with some calling them legitimate contenders behind a balanced offense and resilient defense.
Indianapolis’ defensive unit has performed well under coordinator Lou Anarumo despite setbacks in the secondary, particularly at cornerback.
Veteran Xavien Howard retired, and newly signed slot corner Mike Hilton suffered a shoulder injury against the Raiders.
The team responded by working out a former first-round pick on Monday to address the mounting issues.
“The Colts worked out veteran CB Kendall Fuller and former 1st-round S Lewis Cine,” insider Ari Meirov shared on X.

Indianapolis evaluated safety Cine following Daniel Scott’s placement on injured reserve.
The three-year player was drafted in the first round in 2022 out of the University of Georgia, but has contributed minimally to defensive units thus far.
The Colts’ current safety roster includes Nick Cross, Cam Bynum, Rodney Thomas II, and Trey Washington, suggesting Cine could provide additional depth if signed.
Cornerback Fuller previously drew interest from Indianapolis but signed with the Miami Dolphins last season.
He started 11 games, recording 50 tackles and seven pass breakups while bringing veteran stability to the secondary.
Over his nine-year NFL career, Fuller has accumulated 536 tackles, 16 interceptions, two returned for touchdowns, 82 pass breakups, and 104 starts.
If the Colts acquire Fuller, he could provide veteran experience to a thin cornerback group.
Indianapolis’ defense recently held the Raiders to six points, marking a season-high performance that highlighted the effectiveness of role players despite the offensive spotlight on Steichen, Daniel Jones, and Jonathan Taylor.
