Ryan Reynolds and Channing Tatum have partnered on several occasions, including for the film ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ and to use Wrexham in an advert for the Super Bowl.
The pair are clearly friends and have a close relationship, one that is clear to see from their interactions and the way they talk about each other in interviews.
However, the ‘Step Up’ star believes Ryan Reynolds set him up on Jimmy Kimmel, as the Deadpool star explained Tatum’s night out with the Wrexham squad.
He claimed that the ’21 Jump Street’ star apologised to him for the wild night out he had with some of the Wrexham players, but he has set the record straight.
Channing Tatum believes Ryan Reynolds set him up with the Wrexham story
Tatum is currently promoting his latest film and has been doing the rounds on American television, and he was on The Today Show recently to do this.
While he was happy to talk about his latest film and relationship with Ryan Reynolds, he was shocked to have to explain the story behind the photo of him with the Wrexham team with his top off.

He jokingly said: “Those boys are wild – that’s not all me doing that,” he said. “He [Reynolds] set it up on Kimmel like I did that. Look, I don’t take my shirt off in places wherever we go. We got a little wild that night. I did not intend on doing that. I was going in to do a Super Bowl commercial.
“He was like, ‘Tell me what happened and tell me how it happened.’ And I’m like, ‘I’m not going to do that.’ It was so much fun, and those boys are so good. They’re such a good time, and they actually are pretty wholesome. That doesn’t look wholesome, but they keep it together, and they’re professional. I’m a huge Wrexham fan.”
Channing Tatum is one of several celebrity Wrexham fans
Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac have brought the celebrity factor to Wrexham, which has allowed them to attract several notable faces to the club.
The Always Sunny gang have made an appearance at the Racecourse Ground, once when they were filming their Irish adventure episode, with Charlie Day, Glenn Howerton and Kaitlin Olsen in the stands.
Another star that has been visible was Hugh Jackman, despite the ‘Wolverine’ star being a Norwich City fan.
However, none of them compare to Tatum, who was able to have a wild night out with the Wrexham stars and to have their owner worrying about their condition.
