The one play everyone keeps talking about from the Philadelphia Eagles' 21-17 loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday was the missed deep throw from Jalen Hurts to A.J. Brown.
It happened in the second half where it looked like Brown had his defender beat and Hurts overthrew him. After a replay, it was clear that Brown had slowed up on the route, resulting in the incompletion that could have put the game away.
Brown told reporters after the game that he initially looked for the ball from Hurts, but it hadn't been thrown. Hurts responded to that same question, needing to check the film tape on it.
Well, it appears that the Eagles reviewed the tape on Monday, as evidenced by head coach Nick Sirianni's comments on the play to the media when asked about it.
"I look back and see the re-route definitely affected us."
While he does believe Brown's re-route changed the course of the play, he was not ready to assign the blame on him, Hurts, or anyone else.
"I'm not here to assign blame, I'm here to look for solutions. That's what today was about."
Eagles move forward from Broncos game
There are a lot of lessons that came from the Eagles-Broncos game from that one play alone. DeVonta Smith even mentioned the one thing that needs to be discussed: the team is not on the same page.
It appears that Hurts and Brown never even talked about that play during the game. The lack of communication on the Eagles' part should be concerning to fans and the organization.
Brown wanted the ball more, and he got five catches in the game. Smith went for over 100 yards. The Eagles threw the football 38 times with Hurts having 44 drop-backs.
Philly overcommitted to throwing the football for the sake of making Brown happy, and it cost them the game. That's on Eagles offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo to balance out between run and pass while making his receivers happy.

Everyone in Philadelphia seems ready to move on from the game and focus on the New York Giants on Thursday. A game the Eagles need to make sure the season doesn't go off the rails too much.
