Cowboys owner Jerry Jones offers weird excuse for showing middle finger after Week 5 win

The Dallas Cowboys are starting to put things together on the offensive side of the ball after Dak Prescott and Co. were seen shining in Week 5 against the New York Jets, but as usual Cowboys owner Jerry Jones found a way to make the NFL game about himself in yet another negative manner.

While the Cowboys moved to 2-2-1 on the season after securing a 37-22 win over New York, Jones was spotted in his executive suite on the road at MetLife Stadium flipping the middle finger at the crowd, which sparked a great deal of drama.

Jerry Jones on @1053thefan on giving the middle finger during Sunday’s game in New Jersey: “That was unfortunate. There was a swarm of Cowboys fans out front. It was right after we made our last touchdown. I put up the wrong show of hand. The intention was thumbs up.” pic.twitter.com/3QS6ZkD4B1

Jones had to make an awkward half apology after the game, stating that the incident was “unfortunate” and that his “intention was a thumbs up.”

The Cowboys have strung together two impressive offensive outbreaks recently after scoring 40 points against the Green Bay Packers and 37 on the road against the Jets, but despite the impressive performances Jones always seems to find a way to put himself back into the spotlight.
