Tampa Bay Buccaneers celebrate rare Emeka Egbuka octopus during Week 5 showing

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been loaded at wide receiver for years with Mike Evans and Chris Godwin leading the way, but now head coach Todd Bowles has another superstar wideout in his grasps after the team drafted talented Ohio State standout Emeka Egbuka in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft.

The rookie WR has been lighting up the league since his debut five weeks ago, and now through five games not only does Egbuka have five receiving touchdowns but he’s also managed to complete a unique feat after hauling in a touchdown reception and also securing a two-point conversion Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks.

This season, Egbuka has been thrust into a very important role for the Buccaneers offense after Godwin missed the first few weeks recovering from an injury and Evans has since been sidelined with a setback of his own. That’s put quarterback Baker Mayfield into a position where he’s been able to develop great chemistry with Egbuka as he makes his case for Offensive Rookie of the Year.

The amazing performance came on the heels of former NFL star turned Fox Sports broadcaster Rob Gronkowski offering a hilarious pronunciation of Egbuka’s name the halftime show before the Bucs went on secure an impressive victory on the road in Seattle.
