Insider gives troubling news to Joe Flacco.
The Cincinnati Bengals have finally made the move fans have been begging for since franchise quarterback Joe Burrow went down with a potentially season ending injury in Week 2. NFL insider Adam Schefter announced on X that the Bengals would be acquiring Super Bowl 48 winning quarterback Joe Flacco from the Cleveland Browns.
“Trade: Browns are trading QB Joe Flacco and a 6th-round pick to the Bengals for a 5th-round pick,” the post read.
This comes after Burrow’s replacement, Jake Browning, threw five interceptions in three games leading the Bengals to an 0-3 record in his starts. The Bengals were out scored 113-37 during those three games.
This is a considerably low price to pay for a quarterback that threw for nearly 300 yards against the Bengals in Week 1.
Joe Flacco Benched In Cleveland
Joe Flacco, aged 40-years-old and playing in his 18th year in the league, did not have this season get off to the start he wanted. He was benched in Cleveland after just four games, after the Browns started off the season 1-3 with their lone win coming in a shocking 13-10 victory over the Green Bay Packers.
The team started rookie Dillon Gabriel last week, taking another loss over seas in the London game.
Flacco performed serviceably in the first three games of the year, throwing for nearly 300 yards against the Bengals in Week 1, completing 25 of 45 passes in a blowout loss to the Ravens in Week 2, and leading the team to a victory over the Super Bowl hopeful Packers in Week 3. But the final straw came in Week 4 when Flacco was held to a 47% completion percentage, throwing two picks and zero touchdowns in a loss to Detroit.
Now he comes to Cincinnati where the expectation is that the old timer still has enough juice in his rocket of an arm to push the ball down field to the two 100-million-dollar men on the outside.
