“I’ll go for Frenkie. Frenkie is strong”, Rashford admitted about the once United-linked central midfielder.
De Jong spent the entire 2023 summer linked with United, as Erik ten Hag wanted to reunite with him, but his unpaid wages at Barcelona meant he was unwilling to leave and miss out on millions owed to him.

Frenkie de Jong would have been perfect in the Premier League
Many assume that De Jong isn’t a very physical midfielder, with Rashford among them, admitting his surprise over the fact that the Dutchman is so strong.
This all but reveals that De Jong would have thrived in the Premier League.
Had United signed De Jong over Casemiro, there is no telling how good Ten Hag’s United would have been in that first year, considering it was already a good year.
De Jong would instantly be one of the league’s best, and it is a shame United never got the chance to sign him. He would fit into the club seamlessly, even under Ruben Amorim.
