Analyst Says Key Packers Unit Has Been ‘Bad’ This Season

The Green Bay Packers have one of the best running backs in all of football.

Josh Jacobs is a legitimate stud, someone who can fight through contact like the best of them, and an every-down type of running back.

Unfortunately, his production hasn’t matched his reputation this season.

However, as pointed out in a graphic shared by Eli Berkovits on X, it has hardly been his fault.

The graphic shows that Jacobs has logged most of his production after contact, yet his subpar YPC average suggests that he’s getting hit way behind the line of scrimmage.

With that in mind, Berkovits put the Packers’ run-blocking on blast:

“Can’t overstate how bad the Packers have been at run blocking this year,” Berkovits posted on X.

Fortunately for Jacobs and the team, the Packers are expected to get starting left guard Aaron Banks back on the field in Week 6, and that should open up plenty of lanes for the running game.

The offensive line will get another boost with the return of starting right tackle Zach Tom as well.

The fact that Jacobs has still been able to make something happen on the ground, despite the team’s subpar run-blocking, only speaks volumes about his talent and skill.

Of course, that’s nothing new, as he’s made a living out of breaking tackles and putting up big numbers; he even did it last season in his first year with the team.

Now, it’s all about his teammates holding their end of the deal and doing right by him, and he should be more than able to take care of everything else.
