Man City midfielder Rodri pulled his hamstring during the 1-0 win over Brentford at the weekend.
The Spanish international was forced off midway through the first half on Sunday, and speaking about the injury, manager Pep Guardiola said:
“It’s muscular. Of course, I don’t want to lose him [at all] because he is such an important player. We tried to take care of him, but it is what it is.”
Guardiola has confirmed that they hope to have Rodri back in contention within “two or three weeks”. It means that even though he has withdrawn from international duty, he could stil return to the squad for City’s next fixture later this month.
Expected Return Date – Saturday 18th October vs Everton (h)
