Manchester United ace Marcus Rashford's transfer value is on a downward spiral despite enjoying a successful stint at Barcelona so far. After his loan spell at Aston Villa, Rashford expressed his desire to leave United during the summer transfer window.
His wish was granted when an agreement was struck with his preferred club - the Catalan behemoth, Barcelona. Barca agreed to foot the bill for Rashford's wages in full, bringing him to the club on a loan deal.
The La Liga side, managed by Hansi Flick, also have the option to make the England international's move permanent next summer for a fee around £26.2million. Since making his debut, Rashford has hit the ground running, netting three goals and providing five assists in ten appearances - including a double against Newcastle in the Champions League.
However, despite his promising start to the season, his transfer value continues to tumble, according to transfer experts. As of last week, Rashford's value is said to stand at a mere £34.72million. The forward hasn't seen his value dip below £43.4million since he was a teenager back in 2017.
Back then, he was valued just over £26million, but his worth would soar within a year. Rashford's transfer value reached its zenith in 2021 when it hit a staggering £73.77million.
Whilst his market worth remains higher than what United could potentially pocket should he make his Barcelona switch permanent at the season's close, the Reds possess limited scope to secure a more lucrative deal.
After completing his loan stint in La Liga, Rashford will still have two years left to run on his Old Trafford contract, and having already made clear his intentions to seek pastures new, United find themselves with precious little leverage to demand a heftier transfer fee.

Barcelona have already made it crystal clear that they're under no compulsion to make Rashford's move permanent should they choose not to. Nevertheless, their sporting director Deco suggested the early indicators are promising for the Wythenshawe-born forward.
"There's no penalty clause in the loan agreement if we don't sign him," he revealed to Mundo Deportivo. "We do have an option to make it permanent if we want to. It's too early to talk about decisions for next season. What matters is that we're happy with him."
A Barca source said: "At the top of his game, Marcus Rashford is one of the best players in Europe. Barca have got themselves a genuine bargain. Marcus should be worth more than £60m in the current market."
