NFL analyst Nick Wright has routinely supported quarterback Trevor Lawrence throughout his NFL career. Heck, he's gone to bat for him even when he's struggled. That's why it was baffling to see him pick the Kansas City Chiefs over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday Night Football.
Sure, almost everyone on the First Thing First roundtable picked the Chiefs to win on Monday Night Football, but Jacksonville played well in past weeks, and Lawrence was trending up. But that wasn't enough for Wright to pick the Jags. Greg Jennings made sure to remind him he was wrong.

Here's what Wright had to say when choosing Kansas City before the game.
"Very often, when you pick against the Chiefs, it's on a Friday, and then you're not you don't have to deal with the fallout of your erroneous prediction," Wrigth said. "I know we're not on tomorrow because of baseball, but we are on again this week. Are you sure that's the direction you want to go? I've never heard you
be a big Jags fan... Some would say I can't lose tonight.
Wright continued, "However, I can lose because as much as I love the prince, the Chiefs need to win this game. Chiefs win this game, they're three and two with a house money game against Detroit before Rasheed [Rice] gets back. I mean, like, so, yeah, 2-3 going into that Detroit game feels very different."
And here's Jenning's reasoning to get behind the Jags.
"Give me the Jaguars. Liam Coen, I love what he's doing right now. That defense is playing some great ball. And Brian
Thomas Jr. He's going to wake up tonight," Jennings said.
Jennings was right. Sophomore wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. had his best game of the season, hauling in four receptions for 80 yards on six targets. He reeled in a crucial pass on the game-winning drive.

Aside from Thomas, Trevor Lawrence also came up clutch, totaling 265 yards and three touchdowns, while linebacker Devin Lloyd took an interception to the house.

The Jaguars are quietly turning heads around the league
Nick Wrigth had no option but to recognize that the Jaguars had a convincing win over the Chiefs. He's one of many analysts who gave them their flowers after the game, and rightly so.

Even if certain NFL Power Rankings don't reflect it, Jacksonville is quietly making ground and is showing that it's a serious contender.
And those who are yet to be convinced that the Jaguars are a serious contender, doubt them at your own risk.
