Shedeur Sanders is beaming with pride and happiness after being successfully promoted to QB2 in the Cleveland Browns. The Browns announced Sanders’ ascent to QB2 on Monday this week after trading former QB1 Joe Flacco to the Cincinnati Bengals. The trade makes rookie Dillon Gabriel their starting quarterback with Sanders backup QB.

Sanders is definitely quite happy with his new position, especially since he has been complaining about his status in the Browns for a long time now. Sanders’ mother, Pilar Sanders, recently celebrated his promotion by sharing the announcement post by the Cleveland Browns’ official Instagram account.

Being the incredibly talented quarterback that he is, Shedeur Sanders expected a way better position than the backup to backup quarterback for the Browns after he was bagged by the team in the fifth round of the draft. However, after one after another QB was forced to leave the team for some reason or another, it looks like Sanders’ team to play this season is looking a lot like reality.
The Cleveland Browns had to let go of Joe Flacco after numerous disastrous performances this season. The Browns started to show signs of improvement after the reins were handed over to Dillon Gabriel. With two solid quarterbacks in their roster right now, the Bengals clearly have no use for Joe Flacco and decided to trade him off to the Bengals, who are desperate for an experienced QB right now.

“He’s definitely somebody I leaned on for wisdom and I feel like he helped me a lot. He helped a lot while my time being here in Cleveland and his team being here in Cleveland. Everybody has their own destinies and has their own plans in life, so I’m just happy for him.”Shedeur Sanders said to reporter John Sabol of Fox 8 News.
Shedeur Sanders further went on to comment on Flacco’s senior nature in the team, and that he, as a rookie, was always trying to bring the veteran’s young nature out. Meanwhile, Sanders will be looking forward to making his NFL debut sometime soon this season.
