Antony left Manchester United and completed a permanent move to Real Betis at the end of the summer window.
Manchester United initially let the winger join Betis on loan in January. He impressed in the second half of last season, convincing them to buy him permanently. The negotiations between the clubs dragged on for months before an agreement.
It’s been widely reported Real Betis and Antony had to make financial efforts to complete the operation.

The 25-year-old taking a pay cut was key to unblocking the negotiations with Manchester United.
_“The key point in unlocking the negotiation was Antony’s adjustment of his financial expectations, accepting a significant pay cut in the name of a sporting project that he believes is the best fit for his career at this time,”_ he said.
Real Betis proposed a ‘sportswear line dedicated exclusively to Antony’. This was done to compensate for the pay cut he took to join them. The agent has now insisted finances weren’t the only consideration.

_“The first phase includes lifestyle products, urban clothing, and casual accessories related to the ‘Iluminado’ identity. Moving forward, we aren’t ruling out special collaborations, exclusive experiences, and other products that may bear this signature.”_
As well as the sportswear line, Antony can also earn from an upcoming documentary. The newspaper say filming started when he decided to leave Manchester United in January.
