Everton defender James Tarkowski has signed a new contract at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, keeping him at the club until 2028.
Tarkowski joined the Toffees on a free transfer in the summer of 2022, and he's been a key figure at the club since his arrival, playing 128 times, while also becoming vice-captain of the Merseyside outfit. The 32-year-old has spent minimal time out of the Everton starting XI since signing on the dotted line, playing regularly under multiple managers. David Moyes arrived earlier this year and has kept Tarkowski in the side, and it's turned out to be one of the smartest bits of business the Toffees have done in years, considering he cost nothing to bring him to the club.

Everton have officially confirmed that defender Tarkowski has signed a two-year extension at the club, keeping him at the Hill Dickinson Stadium until 2028. After signing his new deal, the former Burnley centre-back has expressed his excitement at being tied down until 2028, suggesting that he's loved every minute of playing under David Moyes.
"I'm super excited and proud to be an Everton player and to continue this journey. It's been a crazy few years with some big lows and some massive highs. We've managed to get through those tough times and hopefully now we're on to more positive and exciting times ahead. I think the intention has been set out from the start of this season. I’ve loved every minute so far of working under the manager [David Moyes]."
Tarkowski, who earns £125,000-a-week with the Toffees, has rarely missed a minute of action since joining the club, showcasing his availability which has been crucial through a difficult period. At the age of 32, Tarkowski is a key figure not only on the pitch, but in the dressing room too, considering his vice-captaincy status.
The English centre-back signed on a free transfer after leaving Burnley, and it will be difficult for the Toffees to find a replacement who is as consistently available while producing strong performances, so keeping him at the club makes a lot of sense.
Tarkowski has started every single Premier League game this season for Everton, and his performances in Royal Blue are set to continue after putting pen-to-paper on a new deal.
