The Bengals said in a statement they had acquired the 40-year-old and a 2026 sixth round draft pick in exchange for Cincinnati’s fifth-round pick in next year’s draft.
“Joe is an experienced quarterback with a history of winning,” Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said in a statement.
“He is a leader with a skill set that will fit our personnel well. He is a gifted passer with a strong arm, and we are excited to have him on our team.”
Flacco’s arrival in Cincinnati comes after Burrow suffered a toe injury in a week two game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on September 14.
Burrow is expected to return in December. The Bengals (2-3) are second in the AFC North standings, trailing the Pittsburgh Steelers (3-1).
Flacco, a Super Bowl winner with the Baltimore Ravens in 2013, brings a wealth of experience to the Bengals.
Since being released by the Ravens in 2018, Flacco has played for the Denver Broncos, New York Jets and Indianapolis Colts as well as the Browns.
He has amassed 46,512 passing yards through his career with 259 touchdowns and 168 interceptions.
