David Ornstein shares encouraging Jack Grealish

Jack Grealish has rediscovered his best form at Everton.

After a difficult couple of seasons at Manchester City, Jack Grealish decided to join Everton on a season-long loan deal.

Grealish, who has four assists in seven Premier League outings, has been one of the signings of the summer.

David Moyes has even been surprised at how good Grealish is: “He is even better than I thought. He probably needs a bit of love and attention.”

Everton supporters are desperate for Grealish to sign on a permanent deal, and now journalist David Ornstein has shared an update on that front.

David Ornstein shares Jack Grealish update

Speaking on The Athletic FC Podcast, David Ornstein explained that when Grealish first joined Everton, the consensus was that a permanent transfer was very unlikely.

Now, Ornstein reckons there’s a real chance Everton could pay the money to land sign 30-year-old’s signature next summer.

“I remember when I broke the news about there being a £50m option to buy, and everybody sort of laughed and said, ‘Well, that’s not going to be activated.’

“Okay, it probably won’t, but it’s not so unrealistic now.”

It has been reported that Everton are looking to negotiate Grealish’s buy option and the feeling is that Man City would be willing to drop significantly below their £50m valuation.

£30m would be a fair price for Jack Grealish

By the time the summer transfer window swings around, Grealish will be approaching his 31st birthday, so quite clearly £50m would be far too steep.

£30m would be a much fairer price and City would probably be willing to entertain that price given Grealish is out of contract in 2026.

From a commercial aspect, it makes total sense as the England international would certainly sell a lot of shirts.

The only slight concern would be if other clubs come knocking and try to snatch Grealish from the Toffees.

Although, he seems to be loving life on Merseyside and playing under Moyes.
