Mina Kimes Turns Heads With Statement About Colts

The Indianapolis Colts are one of the best teams in football right now.

Quarterback Daniel Jones is playing like a superstar, which is a testament to how good head coach Shane Steichen is.

On the flip side, that also speaks volumes about how bad Anthony Richardson was.

However, according to ESPN analyst Mina Kimes, the Colts have an unsung hero, and assistant coach Lou Anarumo has the team headed toward the playoffs.

“This Colts team is going to be playing in January. They have one of the best individual game planning defensive coordinators in football. That’s a big deal when you start thinking about those matchups,” Kimes said.

The Colts hired Anarumo after he was fired by the Cincinnati Bengals.

Judging by his former team’s recent seasons, it was hard to get excited about that signing.

Then again, to be fair, the Bengals’ defense closed out last season on a high note, and it’s not like he had a lot of talent to work with.

That’s clearly not the case with Indianapolis.

The Colts’ high-flying offense has turned plenty of heads through the first five weeks of the season, and it looks like it can keep up with any other team in the league.

But as the saying goes, offense can win games, but defense wins championships.

That’s not to say that the Colts will get to the Super Bowl, but they are tied for the best record in the NFL entering Week 6, and that hard-hitting defense with some good coaching could make an impact in the postseason.
