2-time Super Bowl-winning QB crashes Brock Purdy’s latest Toyota ad spot

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy is no stranger to the cheesy ad spot. Whether it is for tractors, boots, restaurants, or cars, he is game.

In his latest ad spot with Toyota, two-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback Eli Manning crashed in to make for an unlikely duo.

The full ad can be viewed here or seen below:

In the ad spot, Purdy is about to take a bite of some tacos while sitting on the bed of a Toyota truck before Manning pops into frame and says, "That’s a lot of cilantro don’t you think?"

"Where did you even come from?" Purdy replies.

Manning goes on to give Purdy some advice on how to eat tacos properly, reminding him he needs to use napkins and telling him that he will learn someday. It is about as cheesy as it sounds and is as high quality as an ad featuring two people without acting training could be.

Purdy may had a lot of commercial spots of his own, but the Mannings are in a league of their own. One pretty much cannot watch TV without being subjected to an ad featuring a Manning every commercial break. That family has cracked the code on making money as ads spokesmen, so Purdy truly is learning from the master by taking cues from Eli.

And it's not the first ad they've been in for Toyota together either, adding to the humor.

Unfortunately, seeing Purdy in ad spots is probably the only time we will get to see him in action for the foreseeable future. He is currently dealing with a toe injury that he rushed back from in Week 4 against the Jacksonville Jaguars which he aggravated. It forced him to miss Week 5 against the Los Angeles Rams and he is considered week to week.

The 49ers are almost certainly going to slow play if Purdy though especially with how strong backup quarterback Mac Jones has looked in his starts. He has a 3-0 record with 905 passing yards and six touchdown passes compared to one interception.

The thunderous drums of talking heads in the media are pounding, even demanding a quarterback controversy. Some may even start demanding that Jones’ face gets AI deep-faked into every Purdy ad spot if he continues to play well.

Talks of controversy are overblown. When he is healthy, Purdy is still going to be the starter for the team. The 49ers rewarded him with a $265 million contract extension in the offseason so they are not going to put him on the bench.

It is unfortunate that he is out with an injury, but maybe this will give him more time to film some commercials for his various sponsors and try to further grab a slice of the Manning Advertising Empire.
