Everton are ready to assess their options ahead of the winter transfer window, with David Moyes squad still lacking in certain options.

Jack Grealish‘s late winner saw Everton beat Crystal Palace 2-1 on Sunday, ending a run of four games without victory for the Toffees.

The winger is among several summer signings to impress since arriving at the Hill Dickinson Stadium this season.

Carlos Alcaraz made a big impression off the bench against Crystal Palace, and could be in line for further minutes after his loan move was made permanent in the summer.

But it has not been all positive, with £40million signing Tyler Dibling failing to leave an impression in his first Premier League start for Everton.

Thierno Barry struggled against Crystal Palace, with a 45-minute performance that rather summed up how the Frenchman has looked since his arrival.

Everton spent £27m to sign the Frenchman from Villarreal in the summer, after he had enjoyed a strong season in La Liga.

But decision-makers at the Hill Dickinson Stadium may have underestimated just how raw the striker would look in the Premier League.

Barry has featured in every one of the Toffees’ league fixtures this season, but has managed to register just four shots.

And away from the box, the 22-year-old has left little to no impression, creating just one chance for his teammates and completing just one dribble.

Now, as reported by Mark Douglas on Wednesday, Everton have admitted that it could be some time before Barry fulfils his potential.

“The intention has always been to make further striker signings in the future – Barry is a ‘project’ signing and insiders point out that he was relatively low cost given the market for forwards this summer – but the question is whether Everton expedite any of those potential deals given the way the season is unfolding,” said Douglas.

With that in mind, the Toffees are weighing up their options ahead of the winter transfer window, with the club open to reacting to market opportunities.

Everton fans will love links to ‘tremendous’ striker

Everton have been linked with a move for Gabriel Jesus, with the striker set to be on the periphery for Arsenal once he returns from injury.

The Brazilian, whom Mikel Arteta called “tremendous” following his goal against Manchester United in 2023, is currently stepping up his recovery after suffering an injury to his anterior cruciate ligament in January.

Jesus would bring a quality Everton do not have in the centre of the attack, and could be available for a cut-price fee, considering both his wages, and Arsenal’s purchase of Viktor Gyokeres in the summer.
