Report: Everton get green light for Serie A attacker in January after summer enquiry

Everton have one eye on the January transfer window as David Moyes still has areas of his squad that he wants to improve.

Everton have made a positive start to the new season as they head into the October international break in a potential European spot.

However, one issue has really become apparent, and that’s the lack of a goalscorer, with Beto and Thierno Barry struggling to make an impact.

With that said, a transfer rumour linking the Toffees to a striker is now emerging ahead of the winter transfer window.

Everton given green light to sign Taty Castellanos

Barry is yet to get off the mark for Everton and doesn’t quite look ready in the limited game time he’s been afforded.

Beto is further ahead in his development, but it seems his profligate nature and lack of hold-up play aren’t going to improve much more.

So, Moyes has been looking at signing Joshua Zirkzee in January, and now there is another striker link emerging.

According to LaLazioSiamoNoi, Everton have been given the green light to sign Taty Castellanos, who they made enquiries for in the summer.

It’s understood that Lazio would be willing to sanction his sale for around £30m as they’re struggling financially.

Everton could face competition for Taty Castellanos

Castellanos, who has been capped twice by Argentina, has been registered five goal involvements in six Serie A games this season.

Last term, the 27-year-old netted 14 goals whilst laying on eight assists, so clearly he’s a chance creator as well as a goalscorer.

If Everton do try to land his signature, they could face competition from Nottingham Forest and West Ham United.

They both had a look at him in the summer and could reignite their interest as Lazio make him available for sale.
