The Atlanta Hawks are hoping for a huge season in 2025-26.
They are tired of falling short of their goals and want to be one of the best squads in the Eastern Conference.
A key to making that happen, as always, is Trae Young.
If he has a great year, the Hawks could soar high.
Ben Stinar dove into Young’s numbers and noted how his assists are only getting stronger.
During his rookie year, Young averaged 8.1 assists per game.
The following season, that number was 9.3, and then 9.4, and 9.7.
Last season, he led the league with 11.6 assists per game.
So, now everyone is wondering just how many he will create in the new season.

Last year, Young put up 24.2 points and 3.1 rebounds along with his 11.6 assists.
His assists average has been steadily climbing up season after season, proving that Young is getting better with age in this way.
Despite that, the Hawks haven’t been in the sort of shape they want to be, and they haven’t been considered true playoff contenders.
The hope is that it changes in the new year, partly because of Young but also because of some roster adjustments and additions they made.
The front office has been working hard to improve the lineup around Young, with players like Kristaps Porzingis and Nickeil Alexander-Walker being brought into the fold.
That should provide him with more support and more players with whom he can pass the ball.
Young has been improving his assist game, which has worked wonders for his stat line but hasn’t increased his team’s chances, at least not yet.
But 2025-26 might change all of that.
