Kevin Durant is going to be a central part of the Houston Rockets in 2025-26.
Not only will his skills help the team, but his overall personality and determination will also improve the Rockets.
Speaking to the press, Amen Thompson talked about how Durant inspires him.
“I mean sometimes I think I was going hard, and you watch KD, and he’s near 40, and he’s going harder. It’s just a fact. … What is he, 37? My bad, KD,” Thompson said.

Durant will probably be okay with being called 40 years old because the sentiment behind Thompson’s comment is really nice.
Like many others, Thompson is in awe of what Durant can do, especially at his age.
Last season, he produced 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 4.2 assists on 52.7 percent from the field and 43.0 percent from beyond the arc.
And that was with a dysfunctional team that couldn’t even reach the playoffs.
People eagerly wonder what Durant can do with a better team, one like the Rockets.
Thompson is inspired by Durant, but Durant will also feed off of him.
The young player is one of the most talked-about in the league, and Durant will love to work well with him and find great chemistry on the court.
In fact, Houston has multiple young players like Thompson.
Working with them all will be greatly rewarding for Durant and could help him dig deeper and find more joy in the game.
Durant hasn’t missed a step as he has gotten older, and he’s still one of the most intimidating offensive threats in the NBA.
Seeing him perform at such a high level, even as he approaches 40, is an astonishing feat that makes Thompson and others want to play harder.
