“You’re Gonna Be Quiet At Halftime”: Baker Mayfield Roasted By Fans After Trolling Seattle…

Baker Mayfield’s NFL career has been wild since going first overall in 2018. After stints with Cleveland, Carolina, and Los Angeles, he finally hit his stride in Tampa Bay, throwing 41 touchdowns last season.

Now in his second year with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he has 10 touchdowns through five games and is already in MVP conversations. A Seahawks fan recently discovered just how sharp his competitive edge remains during pregame warmups in Week 5, and Mayfield made sure to remind him after making NFL history.

The scene unfolded in the tunnel before kickoff at Lumen Field. A Seahawks fan decided to chirp at Mayfield while the team waited to take the field. The video captured the entire exchange and went viral across social media.

Mayfield looked directly at the fan andtold him, “You’re gonna be quiet at halftime,” before adding a name we probably shouldn’t print. The quarterback locked in. He had his bulletin board material even though no Seattle player gave him any.

𝗧𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗚: Bucs star QB Baker Mayfield has gone viral for trash-talking a Seahawks fan before running out of the tunnel at yesterday’s game.

The 30-year-old signal caller torched the Seahawks secondary for 379 yards and two touchdowns on 29 of 33 passing, with zero interceptions.

The Bucs won 38-35 in a shootout that came down to the wire, but the performance mattered more than the win.

Mayfield became the first quarterback in NFL history to throw for 375-plus yards while completing fewer than five incomplete passes in a regular season game.

The efficiency was otherworldly. He didn’t forget about the fan either. Mayfield ran back over to where the heckler sat at the end of the game and pointed directly at him.

The situation couldn’t keep NFL fans from chiming in with their own humor. Social media lit up with jokes and memes as fans turned Shilo’s tough break into a trending topic.

NFL Fans React to Baker Mayfield’s Trash Talk With Seattle Seahawks Fan

The interaction blew up online with fans taking sides immediately. One fanwrote, “Then proceeded to go 29 for 33 and 379 yards, 2 TDs and no interceptions. He alright in my book.”

Anotheradded, “You can take the man out of Cleveland but you CAN’T take Cleveland out of the man.”

The support wasn’t universal. Some thought Mayfield crossed a line. The third fannoted, “If you’re gonna chirp at players, expect a chirp back.”

A fourth fan simplystated, “Gotta love Mayfield.”

The debate over whether NFL players should engage with heckling fans continues to divide people. Mayfield has never been one to back down from confrontation. That mentality nearly destroyed his career in Carolina where he posted a 1-5 record as a starter. But in Tampa Bay, that same fire has fueled his resurgence.

The Buccaneers face the San Francisco 49ers this Sunday at Raymond James Stadium. Mayfield will get another chance to continue his MVP-caliber campaign. Whether another fan tries to give him more motivation remains to be seen, but if Week 5 taught us anything, talking trash to Baker Mayfield before kickoff might not be the smartest move.
