The Green Bay Packers looked like Super Bowl favorites through two games, but with them now sitting at 2-1-1 coming off a bye week, there are some things to clean up to get this team back on track.
One position group that has been going through some issues is the wide receiver room, which has already lost Jayden Reed to a broken collarbone, but reinforcements could be coming soon following head coach Matt LaFleur’s update on Christian Watson’s impending return from a torn ACL.
Insider Weston Hodkiewicz shared a quote from LaFleur about Watson recently being designated for return from the reserve/PUP list this week, and he seems excited to have him back at practice.
> “He’s a guy who’s so impactful. There are very few who are as big and strong and fast as Christian Watson. He also has a brilliant mind.”

Watson has struggled with soft tissue and knee injuries throughout his career so far, but he is still just 26 and can bring something different to this offense if he can get back to what LaFleur and the rest of this organization know he is capable of being.
Watson played 15 games last season before going down and averaged an impressive 21.4 yards per reception, though he scored just two touchdowns.
He is likely still a few weeks away from his 2025 debut, but his presence as a deep threat and a jump-ball weapon add an element to this offense that nobody else on the roster can replicate.
Hopefully, Watson’s injuries are behind him and he can get back to being a legitimate weapon for Jordan Love and this offense to help get things back on track in Green Bay.
