Disturbing LeBron James news sparks outrage: ‘Pray for Luka’

LeBron James is in uncharted waters as he delves deeper and deeper into such a storied career without taking any years off for brief retirements. James is hopeful that he and the Los Angeles Lakers will be able to make one more extended playoff run and that he’ll get another crack at winning the NBA Finals.

Unfortunately for James and the Lakers, as the season encroaches, the aging superstar has been sidelined with a nerve issue in his glutes. Many would expect that James would be doing everything in his power to get back on his court to help lead the Lakers to a strong season and position themselves for a deep playoff run.

However, in a podcast appearance with his co-host, Steve Nash, James made it clear that he’s not worried in the least about returning to the floor as quickly as possible, [according to Legion Hoops](https://x.com/LegionHoops/status/1976002591244132717), a rather stunning admission for a player of James’ caliber.

“LeBron says with almost being 41, there’s no urgency to rush and be 100% to start the season, with his focus on being healthy and ready come playoff time,” the outlet reported on Twitter.

Fans reacted to James’ revelation on Twitter.

“It bothers me when players talk in guarantees and put the cart before the horse…no matter how talented they think their teams are, they haven’t clinched anything. U earn it. And having ur focus be on ‘being playoff ready’ before the regular szn has even started is crazy,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“Pray for Luka,” another fan added.

“Can’t wait till the Lakers can get off of a guy that can’t give you a full season’s worth,” someone else wrote.

It’ll be interesting to see how the Lakers do until James can rejoin his teammates on the court.
