The Kansas City Chiefs have gotten off to a slow start to begin the 2025 NFL season. After entering the year as one of the perceived top-tier Super Bowl contenders, Patrick Mahomes and company are just 2-3 following their loss on Monday Night Football to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Ahead of Week 6 NFL action, there are major concerns surrounding the team.
One of those concerns has been the Chiefs’ lack of a legitimate running game. As of right now, Mahomes is actually the leading rusher on the roster. That is not going to be a recipe for success this season.
Neither Isiah Pacheco or Kareem Hunt has been able to get anything going consistently. That has led to some speculation about Kansas City potentially targeting a trade for a running back before the deadline.
A suggestion has been made for the Chiefs that could make a ton of sense.
Kansas City Chiefs Linked to Potential Blockbuster Trade Target Before Week 6
Cody Benjamin of CBS Sports has named Kansas City as one of the top potential landing spots for New York Jets running back Breece Hall before the deadline. He also mentioned the Arizona Cardinals and Los Angeles Chargers.

Of course, there is no guarantee that the Jets will look to trade him. But, if they do open up to the idea, the Chiefs would make a ton of sense as a potential suitor.
Hall has gotten off to a good start this season in New York. He has been one of the lone bright spots for a Jets team that currently holds an 0-5 record.
In the five games he has played for New York, Hall has carried the football 66 times for 351 yards, although he has yet to find the end zone. Hall has averaged 5.3 yards per carry, while also racking up 17 receptions for 150 yards.
Needless to say, it’s an interesting option for Kansas City. If the Chiefs do decide to pursue a running back trade before the deadline, Hall should be at the top of their list.
